You Need to Eat Salads for Breakfast (Wait, Don’t Go)

Let me start by saying that I have nothing against greasy bacon, eggs, and cheese. However, as a person with many people, I was also fully convinced of the need to eat salad for breakfast . They are full, simple, and most importantly, they help me start the day with a light superiority complex. Disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist. I am not a guru. I’m just a writer who loves salads in the morning for the following reasons.

Start the day on a strong note

It’s no secret that making a decision after waking up can set the stage for the rest of the day . This is why I choose morning jogging and why I sometimes read a chapter of a book instead of flipping Twitter in bed.

Choosing healthy and satisfying food in the morning gives me a sense of accomplishment that pervades me all day. For reference, this is how I look in the morning in the first place.

Eat more vegetables in general

Many of the classic “American” breakfasts, such as waffles, bagels, or cereal, are generally less nutritious than what is unfairly called “lunch” or “dinner.” I hate to think of vegetables as “getting out of the way,” but including more vegetables in your first meal can be a great strategy to increase your overall diet.

Starting your “business” on the move

Oddly enough, breakfast salad makes all my … digestive processes … run? I am not good at innuendo. It really helps that I start my day with all the fiber in plant foods, okay?

Experiment with new recipes

If your fancy is a weak garden salad, it’s time to broaden your horizons. The key to my personal experience with breakfast salad is to start with a bunch of greens, but from there you can get creative with your proteins and all the other kinds of fixins.
