Find Small Items With a Vacuum Cleaner and a Pair of Tights
For some reason, the tiny things we drop to the ground will never be what we can lose. No, it’s always back to a favorite pair of earrings, an engagement ring, or a pill that you can’t afford to miss. Next time this happens, don’t panic – just grab stockings and a vacuum cleaner.
It’s quite simple: put a stocking on the working end of the vacuum cleaner, secure with an elastic band and go hunting. The stocking prevents small solid objects from entering the vacuum cleaner itself. This video from Hartford demonstrates it in action:
Since these small objects always have time to slide into the narrowest, smallest corner of the room, the hose nozzle is the best tool for the job; portable vacuum cleaners work great too. Whatever you do, do not try to do it with the rotating brush head. The bristles can rip the stockings, creating holes through which you can slide out of the earring and a tangled mess that you will need to clean up.
