How Much Sleep Do You Really Need?

Everyone has different sleep needs, but most adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night .

So how do you find your specific number? The National Sleep Foundation states that if you can fall asleep within 30 minutes of hitting your pillow and wake up once (or zero) a night, this is a sign that you are sleeping well. And if you’re getting enough, you shouldn’t get tired throughout the day.

So if you are tired during the day, make sure you give yourself the opportunity to get 7 to 9 hours.

If you do this but are still tired, conditions such as sleep apnea are to blame. Or, if you feel like you can’t sleep at all, make sure you have a comfortable bed and a relaxing evening routine without a screen.
