Everything You Need to Know About the Latest Spotify Changes
Spotify recently refreshed its interface, burying the Redo button deep in its mobile app submenu – and people are furious. Both Redditors and Twitter users went online to voice their complaints.
“I’ve been paying for the premium for years and may stop if it’s forever,” Redditor wrote to u / ChummySquash . “Hiding repeat and shuffle is the worst thing you can do with a music app.”
But how do you find the repeat button again? And most importantly, why did you do this with us, Spotify? Here’s what you need to know:
How can I repeat songs now?
It’s not difficult, but annoying. Instead of repeating the song on the regular Now Playing screen, you will need to click the three-dot button in the upper right corner. From here you will find the “Repeat” option under the song currently playing and the artist.
Are there any other changes?
They also moved the Go to Queue option to the same submenu. If you want to see what’s in your playlist, you’ll need to find it there. Instead of a repeat option, you’ll also find a Share option on both the Now Playing screen and a submenu so you can share your music taste on WhatsApp, Twitter or Instagram with interested friends (and those who don’t). don’t want to know what you listen to all the time ??)
Why are they doing this to me?
Because they can. They clearly attach more importance than ever to sharing your content with friends and family, rather than the quality of your listening experience. “We’re always testing new products and features, nothing to share at this time,” Spotify told Verge of the change.
Can I prevent this from happening?
No. The changes have already been made. While testing my Spotify app on IOS, the repeat button temporarily reappeared and then disappeared just as quickly (which gave me some hope that they reconsidered their decision). For now, you can vote on the thread on the Spotify community boards asking you to revert the changes.
