How to Broadcast the 2019 State of the Union Address Live
After the longest government shutdown in the country’s history and more than a little drama tonight, February 5, the appeal to the State of the Union is officially ending.
President Trump is set to take the stage, or rather the House of Representatives, at 9:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm PT. The planned theme of Trump’s second State of Union is “unity,” and women congressmen on both sides of the aisle are expected to wear white in support of each other.
Unlike most other live events, in State of the Union you have many options on how to watch.
All major networks will be showing SOTU, so if you have a TV, turn it on and tune in to your favorite. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, Telemundo, MSNBC, CNN and C-SPAN will broadcast the speech live. Many will also offer comments from their own reporters and analysts upon completion.
If you don’t have a TV, the easiest option, if you’re reading this post anytime soon, is to tune in via an embedded NBC News YouTube video here:
You can also tune live on CBSN and CBS Radio .
CNN also offers its online broadcast of the performance for free , with no user fees or login fees. You can access this stream through the CNNgo app on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, and Android TV, as well as mobile devices like your smartphone or iPad.
If you use any of the main streaming services DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, and Hulu With Live TV, they all offer access to at least some (if not all) of these stations in most markets. If you are all already a subscriber to one of them, you should be in the know.
