You Can Watch the Series “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” Online

Today is the birthday of Fred Rogers, the man who taught usto look for helpers , who understood the power of the game even before it became a national recipe , who knew how to wear a zip-up sweater made by his mother like no other. I miss him and I miss his show.

While you can find episodes of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhoods on PBS Kids, Amazon Prime Video, and iTunes, you can now also watch the programming online at the new Fred Rogers Production website MisterRogers.org . New (old) episodes are released on the first and third Monday of every month.

Only a handful of episodes are released at a time, but I believe Mr. Rogers would not be a fan of binge culture anyway. The show is designed to be slowly received and enjoyed. A few weeks ago, the site showed Mr. Rogers’ visit to the crayon factory, an episode that my daughter and I enjoyed together several times (“Now watch how the crayons get into these crayon collectors” – what a thrill). On the site this week, Mr. Rogers walks on stilts and talks about how long it took him to get the job done.

Show your kids Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood today, his birthday, and any other day. The best view of screen time remains.
