What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in April 2019

Netflix continues to transform itself from a streaming platform into a glorified rival to HBO, adding dozens of original games in April while losing much of its licensed catalog. If you haven’t been impressed with Netflix’s own work and have been into it for the classic movie library, it might be time to unsubscribe.

Licensed films, which hit Netflix in April, include All People of the President, Kidnapping, Spy Kids, The Fifth Element, Sisterhood of the Wandering Pants, and Pineapple Express .

The seventh season of New Girl is approaching too, but almost all of the TV shows that hit Netflix this month are Netflix originals, including Ultraman , Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 , the new season of She-Ra, and the nature document Our Planet . There’s also a new comedy from Kevin Hart.

Netflix is ​​not losing a single major TV show this month, but it is losing valuable films. In April, Netflix loses American Pie , The Heat , The Silver Lining Tutorial , Billy Madison , Happy Gilmore , Happy Feet , all versions of The Clone Wars and eleven Bond films. Crap. And I didn’t know the high-budget web series Video Game High School was even on Netflix, but it will be out on April 13th.
