How to Know If Your MacBook Is Eligible for a Free Battery Replacement

If you own a 13-inch MacBook Pro released between October 2016 and October 2017, you may be eligible for a free battery replacement.

Apple has determined that a component may fail in some laptops, resulting in battery expansion. This is not a security issue, but it is a problem that can lead to some problems with your device.

If you have a laptop that you think might meet the requirements, Apple has a dedicated page where you can enter your computer’s serial number for verification.

You can find your MacBook serial number on the underside of your computer in small print next to the regulatory markings. It is also found on the original packaging of your computer, next to the barcode label.

If qualified, Apple will replace the battery free of charge at an Apple retail store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can also send your computer to an Apple Service Center to fix the problem.

Even if you don’t have any problems now, if your computer is eligible for exchange, it is worth taking it and making it just in case. For this to happen, you will have to spend a few days without your MacBook, but it will be worth it in order not to face unexpected problems in the future.

And if you’ve already paid to replace the battery on your computer and are eligible for a free replacement, you can also contact Apple now to get a refund for that repair.
