You Will Probably Need an Elbow Juicer

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I can be oddly stubborn about seemingly irrelevant matters. So it was with the preparation of juice from lemons and limes. For some reason, I was extremely disgusted with buying any juicing devices. I have hands and a fork , after all, so buying another kitchen utensil felt extravagant. (I can be dramatic, but not extravagant.)

Further confirmation of my stubbornness came from the fact that I had used citrus reamers in the past, and it didn’t make that impression on me. (I can be very weak, but I think they require weird wrist strength.) But then two things caught my attention: I began to notice that I was avoiding citrus cocktails (tragedy) simply because I was too lazy to juice. and I also noticed that all my bartender friends used juicers at home.

Then I found one for seven small dollars at the grocery store and knew it was time to take the plunge. Doesn’t sound like an advertisement, but this thing changed my life. All you have to do is cut the citrus fruits in half, place them in the juicer and squeeze them out. You don’t even need to squeeze that hard. The juice flows, the seeds remain, and your hands and wrists feel free (and clean) – all for less than $ 10. You can buy it online , at a restaurant supply store, or at some grocery stores, which is what you should do if you make a lot of cocktails or just use a lot of fresh lemon and lime.
