Update Firefox Browser Now to Fix a Serious Security Bug
Following the release of Firefox 67.0, Mozilla released Firefox 67.0.3, which fixes a serious security bug. According to a post by Mozilla Security , hackers have reportedly used this error to hijack PCs that have uninstalled versions of Firefox 67.0 installed. All Firefox users should immediately update to the latest version to protect themselves from the exploit, which is easy enough: download the latest browser directly from Mozilla or click the hamburger icon in the upper right corner, then Help, then About Firefox.
First reported to Mozilla by Google Project Zero and Coinbase Security, hackers can use modified javascript to trick users into visiting websites that host malicious code on their computers. This is a serious vulnerability, and the Mozilla Security board is urging all users to install the updates immediately – it’s even bad that the US Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency even got involved in spreading the word about the patch.
Firefox may be one of the best popular web browsers for security and privacy-conscious users these days , but it is clear that even it can fall prey to unforeseen attacks. Install the above patch and make sure your Firefox user friends do the same.
