Practice a New Language by Chatting With People on Twitch
Learning a new language can be tricky, especially if you have nowhere to practice the new vocabulary and language rules you are learning.
Duolingo this week announced a new partnership with Twitch that could make finding a workout spot a little easier.
As part of the new partnership, Duolingo has identified a number of streamers as insiders who are part of the Global Ambassador program, as well as organizers and members of the platform. None of them are language experts, but they are multilingual or are working on learning a second language, and they encourage viewers to practice the languages they know on Twitch chat.
Duolingo has a list of all verified streamers, as well as a list of the languages they speak or learn.
If you are learning a new language, then trying to speak it in real conversation and not just through a language course can be invaluable. Duolingo is great for helping you master basic vocabulary and grammar, but something like that can be great for a little practice as well.
If video games are not to your liking , I also recommend Beelinguapp , which allows you to listen to audiobooks in your chosen language and view the English text for that book at the same time. It’s not as good as talking to another person in that language, but it can help with this immersion element.
