Keep Your Space Clean With Regular Cleaning Days

Admittedly, I’m a pretty dirty person. I constantly have stacks of things around my office, and sometimes at home, which I plan to get to “later”; however, as my boyfriend will tell you, later, more often than not, never comes. This is why I recommend scheduling it.

Instead of “general cleaning,” schedule a quarterly (or perhaps monthly) “Cleaning Day,” where you force yourself to go to your places and remove things you no longer use, sort out those “later” heaps and pay attention to everything. correct space.

For my office, which is usually littered with old mail, boxes of packages I receive, books and other things that I plan to pass on to friends, a monthly cleaning day makes the most sense. I always use the first day of the month as my day simply because it is easiest to remember and I go through my office and make sure everything is organized and that things to be returned have been returned and things to be hit are trash. there.

For example, I could go ahead and give the books I finished to friends, or put my old camera on eBay now that I’ve bought an upgrade. That sort of thing.

On the other hand, our bedroom only needs to be cleaned once a quarter. Every 3-4 months I go through my closet and donate items that I don’t think I’ll wear anymore and throw away items that have expired.

You can do the same with any part of your home that can become overcrowded with too many things over time.

The idea here is to set the time for the “purge” well before the situation gets out of hand. When you clean up and make a mess (and get rid of things) monthly instead of yearly, these cleaning boxes are much smaller and the whole process is significantly less tedious.

Planning is also very important. Technically, I had this idea for years, but I really only started implementing it when I literally put it on my calendar every month and forced myself to bring it to life.

Trust me, if it all got out of control, and not all at once, then it is worth its weight in gold.
