How to Force a New Automatic Android Update
Finally, there is a new version of Android Auto – something like that. Google started rolling out a beautiful new version of Android Auto late last month, and your device should prompt you to switch to a new look when you plug it into your car. If not, you will want to check the hidden setting to force this update manually.
As reported by Android Police , some Android fans have connected and disconnected their devices from their cars without ever receiving a notification – an important notification, as we note – to update to the latest version of Android Auto. While it is likely that Google will automatically update every Android Auto at some point, there is no point in waiting this day for that to happen if you can access the new version right now.
To see if you are eligible, and to start the update process if you were not prompted to do so, you need to open the Android Auto app on your phone. Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner and tap Settings. Then find the top-most item on the screen, where there should be a Try New Android Auto option.
Turn it on and you have a brand new version of Android Auto the next time you plug your phone into your car.
