Make Frozen Teethers From Baby Food Bags

With our little son, we are at a stage where every unexplained expression of discontent is met with the question: “Do you think his teeth are teething?” It is very likely right now that this is the case. He’s salivating and a little fussy, and whenever I let him feel the “cold” of a canned drink straight out of the fridge, he grabs it and brings it to his tiny mouth, giving me a look that says, “Thanks for the sweet, sweet relief.

I gave him this classic teething banana and he seems to like it. These do-it- yourself teethers also help. They’re so easy to make: you just take a bag of baby food, squeeze different shapes onto a tray lined with non-stick paper, and place it in the freezer. After a few hours, your child will be able to chew on the frozen nibbles, soothing sore gums.

Any baby food bag will work, although thicker bags are easier to draw from. Teethers are suitable for babies who have started eating solid foods – they melt their mouths, and, as I discovered last night, their hands, hair, and their entire face too.

The best part is that they serve as a cool snack on a warm day. I might have taken a bite – they’re pretty tasty.
