Introducing: Lifehacker’s Ultimate Guide to Wi-Fi
When you have poor Wi-Fi, you know it – oh, you know it. And getting it to start working again isn’t always as easy as unplugging and plugging your router back in, which is one of our favorite tech-related troubleshooting methods.
You don’t need to memorize every setting on your router to set up a killer wireless network at home, but there are quite a few things you will want to know about Wi-Fi in order to get the best performance on many of your devices. To help you, we’ve created a dedicated page – Lifehacker ‘s Complete Wi-Fi Guide – that you can bookmark and link to whenever you mess with your Wi-Fi (or find your connection is slower but you have no idea why).
Have we covered everything? Hardly. There is more to talk about, like my favorite topic: what the hell do all those numbers after the letters “AC” on the box of your router mean? Or better yet, “Do I really need this $ 400 router, or would a $ 100 router be enough?”
Think of our Guide to Wi-Fi as the “best of the best” guide to keeping up with our wireless networks. As we write more stories, I’ll be updating the page to make sure you’re always one or two clicks away from everything you need to know about wireless. And if you still can’t find the answers to your questions, tell me – I’ll be happy to take this opportunity to provide you with the great wireless connection you deserve.
