Florida Residents Can Get Free Uber or Lyft Ride to Dorian’s Shelter
If you’re in the Florida area hit by Hurricane Dorian, Lyft and Uber offer free rides to and from local shelters.
In both cases, this free ride comes with a small caveat: it must be less than a certain amount to be “free,” which means you still have to pay a little depending on how far from the shelter you are.
Here is the official list of shelters .
For Uber, you can get two free rides using the service up to $ 20.
To take advantage of the offer, launch the app and tap “Checkout” in the app menu, then scroll down to “Promotions” and select “Add Promo Code”. From there enter the code DORIANRELIEF.
Lyft offers something similar, but only a $ 15 credit, not $ 20 per ride. To take advantage of this offer, you must register your phone number on the Lyft’s Wheels for All website . After that, you can use the promo code DORIANRELIEF in the app to get a discount.
Worth noting: Lyft and Uber drivers put themselves and their cars at risk when working during a hurricane. If you can, it’s especially important to remember to tip these drivers.
