How to Prevent Your HomePod From Breaking in IOS 13.2

Apple recently released iOS 13.2, which adds some useful features to your HomePod, including the ability to detect and distinguish multiple voices and stream audio from iPhone to Homepod by holding the phone close to the speaker. The bad news is that this update seems to indiscriminately block some HomePods.

According to MacRumors , some users claim that the iOS 13.2 update breaks their HomePods to the point where they can no longer do anything with their smart speakers. Problems supposedly appear immediately after installing the software or when restarting the HomePod after installing it. (There has even been speculation that this issue could arise when users update their HomePods to iOS 13.2 to their iPhones, but that’s just a guess so far.)

Apple has already released iOS 13.2 for HomePods, so if your smart speaker hasn’t downloaded the update, there’s nothing else for you to do. If so, which is very possible if your HomePod is set to receive automatic updates, Apple suggests delaying reset or restarting the speaker until it fixes any issue, even if iOS tells you to restart the speaker. You can check which version of HomePod software is installed on your speaker using the Home app on your synced iPhone or Mac.

Finally, if you find that your Homepod has already fallen victim to HomePod bug 13.2 and your speaker is no longer working, you should call Apple Support as soon as possible. According to some reports , Apple will replace or repair HomePods that are broken due to a bug.
