Get Deep Fusion Photo on IPhone 11 With Today’s IOS 13.2 Update
Apple today ditched iOS 13.2 (as well as iPadOS 13.2 and tvOS 13.2), and like most iOS updates like this, there are tons of changes and additions to play with. This includes the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro cameras, finally featuring Deep Fusion photography – for stunning low-light shots – and a host of new Siri options for all iOS devices.
Before we move on to these updates, start installing the new version of iOS now. To update to iOS 13.2, simply go to Settings> General> Software Update on your iPhone. It will boot, your device will reboot, installation will begin, and you can read our guide to all the new iOS features while you wait:
Deep Fusion and new video settings
- The focus of iOS 13.2 is a number of new camera settings for the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. The most notable addition is Deep Fusion, which is finally supported in a stable build of iOS after spending the last couple of weeks in public beta . This feature is described as “crazy science” as it combines multiple frames (and different exposures) using machine learning, analyzing what the camera did, pixel by pixel, to determine the best way to blend and combine these different shots into one last one, hopefully , amazing picture. Deep Fusion is automatically enabled by default for your standard and telephoto images, and your device automatically chooses which post-processing settings it uses (including Deep Fusion) based on the ambient lighting and lenses you use.
- IPhone 11 users can now set the resolution and frame rate for their videos by clicking the new resolution and frame rate in the upper left corner of the Camera app user interface.
New Siri Features
- Once you install iOs 13.2, you’ll see a privacy notice explaining how Apple uses your Siri recordings. You will be presented with a shortcut to Siri’s privacy settings and, if you wish, the option to opt out of your interactions used to improve Siri . Privacy changes made by users will also apply when any Apple Watch is connected.
- iOS 13.2 also adds a new Announce Messages option that allows the digital assistant to read incoming messages while you have AirPods connected. You can turn this on in Settings> Siri and Search> Announcements.
Airpods Pro
- Speaking of AirPods, iOS 13.2 adds support for the recently announced AirPods Pro, and you can now adjust the volume in the iOS Control Center when you have a pair of AirPods or certain Beats headphones connected.
Other additions
- All iOS devices have 70 new emojis to try out, many of which add more inclusive presentation options. You’ll find them on the emoji keyboard, but you can preview some of the new additions on Emojipedia .
- It is now easier to uninstall apps from the Home screen by holding the app icon and then tapping Uninstall App from the menu.
- Ahead of the launch of the new Apple Research app, Apple has added a new Research section in Settings> Privacy that you can visit to change permissions for any sensor or use the data your device collects.
- The Quick Menu item “Reorder Applications” has been renamed to “Edit Home Screen”.
- New options have been added to Settings> General> AirPlay & Handoff that allow you to customize media sharing on HomePods and TVs.
- New organization options for listing connected devices in the HomeKit app
- As always, various minor bug fixes and stability updates.
