Southwest Will Match Your Elite Status With Any US Airline Right Now
Getting one airline to match your elite status to another is not always easy. For example, American Airlines usually requires you to pay a little more money to qualify. However, Southwest is currently offering a heck of a good deal to take advantage of right now.
Until December 31st, Southwest will match your Elite status at no cost to any other US airline with its own Southwest A-List status. Typically, you need to fly at least 25 one-way flights or earn 35,000 points to qualify.
With Southwest status, you get priority boarding and security line access, and a free same day waiting option if you want to change your flight at the last minute.
To register, simply visit Southwest and register for its Rapid Rewards program. From there, send an email to the email address listed on the Southwest website, along with your name, Rapid Rewards number, and a screenshot of your Elite Status with another US airline. According to Southwest Airlines, you usually get approval within 12 days before you can book a flight with your new status.
And if you are flying overseas and are not yet a cardholder, this is why you should take a Global Entry interview on your return to save time.
