The Eufy FamiLock S3 Max is a lock, a 2K video intercom , and a small indoor monitor all in one. It’s currently listed on Amazon for $279.98, down from its original price of $399.99, which, according to price tracking sites, is considered the lowest price to date.
PCMag gave it an “Excellent” rating and named it the best smart lock of 2025 (see this review for other options). While this justifies the price, it’s still a premium purchase—you’re paying for convenience and integrated functionality. Instead of installing a separate lock, doorbell, and indoor display, this device combines all three functions into a single system with on-site storage.
In practice, this means fewer gadgets at your door and fewer apps to manage. This IP65 -rated smart lock’s exterior panel contains a 2K HDR camera with a wide 180-degree viewing angle, reducing the risk of packages left near the frame being cut off. An infrared sensor automatically activates at night. The keypad remains dark until you touch it, then lights up brightly for use. The palm vein scanner is fast and reliable, making it more practical than fingerprint scanners, which can perform poorly in poor weather. If you prefer traditional access, you can still use a physical key, password, mobile app, or voice control via Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, or Google Assistant.
Additionally, the indoor unit features a four-inch 1080p screen that displays a live view of who’s outside, essentially replacing a peephole. This is useful for homes that never had one, or for those who prefer not to pull out their phone every time the doorbell rings. Power comes from a rechargeable 15,000 mAh battery, rated for up to five months of operation, with four AA batteries as a backup. It fits standard doors and installs like a regular smart lock, though the hardware is larger than most similar devices. In terms of integration and storage, it supports Matter , a cross-platform smart home standard, so you’re not locked into a single ecosystem. However, it doesn’t support IFTTT, limiting the ability to automate more specific tasks.
