How to Avoid Crunchyroll’s Recent Price Hikes

Anime fans are about to get a little harassment from your Crunchyroll subscription. For the second time in two years, the streaming service is raising prices, this time across all its plans, including the basic Fan Tier. This comes shortly after the company eliminated the ad-supported free plan on December 31st.

The new tariff plans and their prices will be as follows:

What do you think at the moment?

  • The Fan Tier subscription price will increase from $7.99 per month to $9.99 per month. This tier provides basic access to the entire Crunchyroll library, as well as the ability to download series to one device for offline viewing.

  • The Mega Fan subscription will increase from $11.99 per month to $13.99 per month. This plan will allow you to watch content on up to four devices simultaneously, download HD content for offline viewing, and access the Crunchyroll game vault .

  • The Ultimate Fan Tier subscription will increase from $15.99 per month to $17.99 per month. This subscription includes access to Crunchyroll Manga, the ability to stream on up to six devices simultaneously, and a gift pack after one year of subscription.

The new prices will take effect with your first payment after March 4th. However, if you haven’t yet subscribed, you still have some time to sign up and get a (slightly) lower price for your first month. While existing users can’t lock in the lower price, Crunchyroll is offering a limited-time upgrade to the annual Fan Tier plan for $66.99 per year, which works out to $5.58 per month. If you’re confident your anime addiction will continue after a year, this is the best way to save money in the long run.
