This QLED TV Offers Impressive Brightness and Gaming Performance, and Costs Under $800.

The 65-inch TCL QM7K TV is currently on sale for $797.99, down from its original price of $999.99, and according to price-tracking sites, this is the lowest price it’s ever been reduced to. The QM7K isn’t a cut-down budget model; it’s a mini-LED TV with full-array local dimming, wide-format HDR support, and brightness exceeding 2000 nits. In practice, this means HDR effects look vibrant and rich, contrast remains controlled, and the screen remains usable even in rooms with plenty of natural light. It doesn’t reach the extreme peak brightness of the more expensive TCL QM8, but for most living rooms, the difference is negligible. And if you’re also looking for a reliable gaming and streaming system without spending over a thousand dollars, the QM7K is ideal.

TCL has equipped this TV with gamer-focused specs: a native 144Hz refresh rate , AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and less than 5ms input lag at 1080p resolution and high frame rates. Even at 4K60 resolution, input lag remains under 14 milliseconds, significantly lower than the single frame rate PCMag uses as a benchmark for consistent gaming performance. Connectivity is also top-notch, with four HDMI ports, including two that support 144Hz signals and one with eARC for audio pass-through, as well as USB, Ethernet, and optical audio output. Smart features are handled by Google TV, which supports Apple AirPlay, Chromecast, Google Assistant, and all major streaming apps. The included remote is backlit, easy to use, and features quick access buttons for popular apps. The interface is also easy to navigate.

However, there are some compromises. Color reproduction is inherently warm and may require adjustment, and the panel doesn’t support ATSC 3.0 , so you’ll miss out on the newer over-the-air broadcast standard. Also, like most LED TVs, you’ll lose some color saturation and contrast when viewing from extreme angles. But these tradeoffs are minor for most people using it as a living room centerpiece or gaming monitor. PCMag rated the QM7K “Excellent,” and our own writer, Daniel Oropeza, called the 65-inch model one of the best budget QLED TVs .
