My Favorite Amazon Buy of the Day: the Beats Pill Portable Speaker.

Modern Bluetooth speakers have features that make them better than they were just a few years ago, from USB-C for universal fast charging to high-resolution audio playback and the ability to serve as a backup power source for other devices. The Beats Pill speaker has all these features and more, making it a great choice, and its price has dropped to $99.95 (from $149.95), reaching its lowest price since its recent release, according to price tracking tools . For under a hundred dollars, this speaker is a real find.
I’ve been testing the Beats Pill speaker since its release in summer 2024, and it has everything I could want from a portable speaker: stereo sound when connected to another compatible speaker, multi-room mode for playing the same music on multiple speakers, a Find My Device feature in case you lose it during a party, and Class 1 Bluetooth for increased range.
Apple users will get the most out of the Pill thanks to its seamless iOS compatibility for a smoother experience. (For more on this, check out PCMag’s review, which earned it an “Excellent” rating .) But this Beats speaker isn’t just for Apple users: Android users can also connect via Bluetooth 5.3, but it only supports AAC and SBC codecs , so there are no codecs available for Android that would truly improve sound quality.
As for battery life, you can expect approximately 24 hours on a single charge, depending on usage, which is comparable to other speakers of this size. It delivers classic, vibrant Beats sound, balanced yet with powerful bass. The speaker is IP67 dust- and water-resistant, so it can be submerged in water for up to 30 minutes. The biggest drawback is the lack of an adjustable equalizer in the app, but this is less of a concern given the excellent sound right out of the box.
