My Favorite Portable Projector Is Now Cheaper Than Ever.
I’ve tested portable projectors for a variety of purposes, but few, if any, can compare to the complete package offered by the XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro . It’s my favorite of the bunch, and right now you can get a great bundle with the XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro portable projector and the PowerBase stand (which you really need) for $368.99, down from $500 at launch. That’s its lowest price ever, according to price tracking tools .
The projector has two ports—USB and micro HDMI—so you can project from a laptop or phone, or simply mirror the screen from your devices via the Google TV operating system. Furthermore, since the projector is “smart,” it comes pre-installed with standard apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon, and you can download additional ones from the Google Play Store and control it with a remote. With 450 lumens of brightness and a 1080p resolution, it’s best suited for use in dark rooms, but it can also be used with ambient light (I use it extensively in my backyard).
The main advantage of this projector is its automatic keystone correction feature. If you move it anywhere, it will automatically adjust the image to look its best, no matter where it’s positioned. It’s easy to use and designed for quick and hassle-free setup. It also includes a powerful 5-watt Harman Kardon speaker that sounds great—about on par with speakers like the Echo Dot .
One caveat: this projector doesn’t have a built-in battery, which is a shame. You’ll need a portable charger, a power outlet, or, if you purchase the bundle, the PowerBase , which provides 2.5 hours of battery life.
