CES 2026: This Accessory Can Turn Your MacBook’s Display Into a Touchscreen.

Many have been asking for a MacBook with a touchscreen, and now it’s possible thanks to the Intricuit Magic Screen , announced at CES 2026. It’s an overlay accessory that attaches to your MacBook’s display and uses one of the laptop’s USB-C ports for power. Once connected, you can touch the Magic Screen, and your actions will be recorded on your Mac.
The good news is that the included stylus makes interacting with various Mac apps much easier. When you touch something on your iPhone or iPad, the interface takes into account the fact that your fingers are much thicker than a mouse pointer. On a Mac, the mouse pointer is used by default, so the Magic Screen stylus is better suited for this type of interaction than using your fingers. However, you can use your fingers with this touch accessory.
It’s worth keeping in mind that using the touchscreen overlay has a few caveats. First, you won’t be able to quickly close your MacBook’s lid while the Magic Screen is attached. The company has added a thick plastic piece to the base of the accessory. This piece is located just above your MacBook’s keyboard and prevents accidental lid closing with the Magic Screen attached. This ensures you don’t accidentally damage the laptop’s display by slamming the lid shut while the accessory is attached.
This also means you’ll always have to unplug the Magic Screen when you’re not using your Mac, which can be a bit inconvenient. Intricuit claims the device also functions as a graphics tablet, so you can place the Magic Screen on your desk and use the stylus to draw or control your Mac. The company claims the accessory’s battery lasts up to 100 hours on a single charge.
Intricuit announced this product at CES 2026 and announced that the Magic Screen will soon be available on Kickstarter with a starting price of $139. The company plans to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2026. It currently supports 16-inch, 14-inch, 15-inch, and 13-inch MacBook Pro M-series models, as well as MacBook Air M-series models. You’ll just need to select the correct model for your laptop when placing your order.
