CES 2026: Petkit Yumshare Daily Feast Automatic Wet Food Feeder for Your Cat.

I don’t have a cat, but I do have a dog, and my dog is a very picky eater. After months of trial and error, we managed to get her to eat breakfast and dinner consistently using only wet food. I, or anyone looking after my dog, can’t rely on her to feed him, but that’s not the case with cat owners. I know cats are sometimes left home alone for long periods, and in that case, an automatic feeder becomes essential. I can only imagine that cat owners who, like me, feed their pets wet food now face the problem of someone having to be home to feed the cat.

That’s what intrigued me about Petkit’s Yumshare Daily Feast, an automatic cat feeder specifically designed for wet food. I briefly covered Yumshare when Petkit first announced it last week , but today I had the chance to test it out in person at CES. And while the device I saw isn’t available for sale yet, it intrigued me.

The concept itself is quite simple, but the implementation is somewhat more complex. As you might expect, the feeder dispenses portions of food to your cat when you’re not around—except the food is wet, not dry. To achieve this, Petkit equipped the Yumshare with a compartment that holds up to seven pouches of wet food at a time. These pouches are designed exclusively for Yumshare: currently, the only company producing the pouches is Food Chain, which uses Petkit’s patented design that’s compatible with Yumshare, but other companies may join the project in the future.

When Yumshare opens one of these bags for the first time, it sets a timer: after 48 hours, the bag is discarded. Meanwhile, the machine can automatically dispense user-specified servings into a cup stored in a separate compartment. After dispensing a serving, the bag is sealed until the next serving is needed. The machine also uses UVC light to disinfect the packaging, killing bacteria.

Automation extends to the wet food portion itself. Whether your cat eats all, some, or none of the food, Yumshare can discard the leftovers when it determines it’s time. This could be because the AI-powered camera has detected the food has dried out, or because the internal clock has determined that too much time has passed for the food to be safe to eat. In either case, the food ends up in a waste compartment that can hold up to 15 cups at a time. The tray remains empty until it’s time to dispense the next portion.

What do you think at the moment?

The size of each portion, as well as the frequency of its distribution, is entirely up to you. Petkit showed me a mockup of the Yumshare app, which allows you to customize the feeding schedule. The app also shows how many portions have been distributed and how many remain in the chamber. You can also view a live video of your cat via the device’s built-in 4K camera or view your cat’s feeding history.

My only question concerns the lack of refrigeration: Petkit claims it’s unnecessary, as all bags are sealed before use, resealed between meals, and the chamber uses UV light to sterilize the food from bacteria. However, I’d like to confirm that storing an open bag without refrigeration for two full days poses no health risks, even with UV light. If this is true, I’m very impressed with this prototype. If I were a cat owner who frequently had to leave my pet alone during breakfast and dinner, I’d take this into consideration.
