These Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Are Currently 25% Off.

Smart glasses have been promising convenience for years, but few have proven practical enough for everyday wear. Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (1st generation) come close to that while maintaining a familiar style. They look like classic Wayfarers rather than a technological experiment, which immediately lowers the barrier to purchase. Their price is also now more justifiable. The matte black version with polarized lenses is 25% off for $246.75, down from $329, the lowest price currently available, according to price tracking sites. The glossy black version with clear lenses is cheaper at $224.25 if you don’t need sun protection.

The real test is how well they fit into your daily routine without getting in the way. At 49 grams, they’re a bit heavier than standard Ray-Bans, and if you wear prescription lenses, you’ll feel the extra weight after a while. However, in short bursts, they’re easy to live with . Tapping the frame to take a photo or record 1080p video feels natural when the phone is in your pocket or bag. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera captures most of what’s in front of you and handles motion well enough for walks or events. However, everything is recorded vertically, which should work well for social media but limits your options for post-processing.

What do you think at the moment?

Meta AI is where these glasses will either win you over or leave you indifferent. You can ask simple questions, send messages, control music, or use the real-time translation feature that keeps you connected to real conversations (which is really useful when traveling, as our senior author noted in his review ), but they’re not suitable for booking trips or handling complex queries. Furthermore, their open speakers allow you to listen to music or take calls while remaining aware of traffic conditions and people around you. This tradeoff emphasizes perception over sound quality, which is perfectly reasonable for everyday use. A potential downside is the battery life, which is about four hours, and the charging case can charge the glasses an additional eight times, so you’ll need to consider charging them if you plan to wear them all day.
