Apple’s New IPhone Update Ensures You’ll Never Miss a Reminder Again.

Apple’s various apps and utilities are finally starting to work together, and that’s great news for iPhone users. Last year, Apple added the ability to sync Reminders with Calendar , allowing you to add time-based reminders directly to your calendar—a feature I now use regularly. Now, in iOS 26.2 , Apple finally integrates Reminders with the Alarms app; you can now set a corresponding alarm for any reminder.

If you’re like me and tend to forget things and need a reminder about something, this feature will be helpful. The alarm will appear full-screen until you dismiss it. And yes, you can snooze it.

How to Add an Alarm to Any Reminder on Your iPhone

To get started, open the Reminders app, go to your task list, and create a new reminder or edit an existing one. When you add a date and time, you’ll see a new “Urgent” toggle. Turning on “Urgent” activates an alarm that will go off when the reminder is due. The alarm will go off even if your iPhone is on silent or Do Not Disturb, so be careful when setting it.

When you first turn it on, you’ll receive a permission request to integrate reminders with alarms. Tap “Allow .” If this pop-up doesn’t appear or you’ve already closed it, go to Settings > Apps > Reminders and, under “Allow access to reminders,” turn on the “Alarms ” toggle.

When a reminder goes off, you’ll see a full-screen reminder interface with the reminder itself at the top of the screen and the option to snooze it (using Apple’s new snooze slider , which you can disable if you prefer). You’ll also see a large blue “Snooze” button. This button will snooze the reminder for nine minutes.

What do you think at the moment?

Whether you tap the Snooze button or dismiss the alarm using the slider, Apple will add the reminder to the top of your notification list as a Live Activity. You’ll see the reminder, the specified snooze time (if enabled), and a task. To complete the task, you’ll need to mark it in the Live Activity or the Reminders app.

Unlike the new alarm feature , there’s no option to change the snooze duration for reminders or disable the slider. If you don’t like the snooze feature or the ability to end reminders with two taps, you can replace it with a “Snooze” button. Go to Settings > Apps > Reminders and, under “Urgent Reminders,” enable ” Snooze from Alarm .” Now, when an alarm goes off, you’ll see two buttons: “Stop” and “Snooze .” Tapping “Snooze” will dismiss the alarm and mark the task as completed.
