I love reading novels and other books on e- readers, but when it comes to color content , especially comics or even Android apps , I’m at a loss. I love the eye-pleasing look of E Ink, but Android e-readers can be slow to respond to inputs, and color e-readers still lack brightness and contrast compared to traditional screens. This tablet features an 11-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a starting storage of 64GB (expandable to 256GB for an additional fee). With a MediaTek processor and 8GB of RAM, it won’t be powerful enough to run demanding apps like the latest games, but it should be adequate for its intended purpose—reading. The main drawback is that it drains battery a little faster than a typical E Ink display, but with an 8000mAh battery, it should last several days without recharging.
It’s probably not the best choice if you only read black-and-white books, as E Ink will still provide a much better experience, albeit slightly. But if you need the versatility of Android or want to read vibrant color content without straining your eyes, the NXTPAPER 11 Gen 2 may be a better choice than any E Ink device. It’s also a good choice for artists, as drawing on the NXTPAPER feels slightly more natural, as evidenced by the slightly more expensive XP-Pen Magic Note Pad , which is also on sale on Cyber Monday.
