The Garmin Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 are brand new watches released just this year, and they’re currently on sale for the first time. Both models are $100 off. The sale began a few days ago on Black Friday and continues today, on Cyber Monday.
I used and reviewed the Forerunner 570 , and I think it’s a significant improvement over the previous model, the Forerunner 265 (which I also really liked ). The 570 adds a microphone and two different types of voice assistants, as well as a number of new software features, such as heat adaptation and the ability to limit your activity if you haven’t pressed the stop button after crossing the finish line. My only complaint is (or was) that the price seemed a bit high compared to the previous model. But with the current offer, it’s much closer to the original price of the 265: the 570 now costs $449.99 .
The Forerunner 970 is also $100 off, bringing its current price to $649.99 . The 970’s main advantage over the 570 is its ability to display maps while you run. Both models support breadcrumb trails (drawing a line to show your route), but with full map support, you can see important information, such as where your route crosses or turns onto roads. The 970 also features an LED flashlight, which is incredibly handy for navigating in the dark—whether you’re in a cozy campsite or just sneaking out of your kid’s room before bed.
