The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro (Adventure Combo) has been slashed from its regular price of $449 to $369, which, according to price trackers , is its lowest price ever. While many people default to GoPro action cameras , DJI is confidently carving out its own niche. It’s compact, lightweight (145g), and surprisingly durable. It’s waterproof to a depth of 20 meters without an additional housing, making it safe for pool diving or sudden downpours. The camera shoots crisp 10-bit 4K120 video, and its ultra-wide 155-degree field of view adds drama to your footage without obvious distortion. It also features dual touchscreens—front and rear—for easy framing or switching modes while filming.
Most people buy an action camera for two things: stability and reliability. DJI emphasizes both. RockSteady stabilization allows you to control your movement, even if you’re running, cycling on uneven roads, or attaching the camera to a helmet. The tradeoff is a slight crop, but the wide sensor covers this gap well. What stood out in testing, including PCMag’s “Outstanding” review , which named it the best action camera of 2024 , was its battery life. DJI uses a 1950mAh Extreme Battery Plus and a new 4nm image processor, and the results hold up in real-world use. The reviewer recorded 26 minutes in 4K60, 154 minutes in 4K30, and 182 minutes in 1080p30 before needing a break, and none of these tests caused the camera to overheat. The GoPro Hero13, under the same conditions, lasted only about half an hour in 4K60 mode before shutting down due to heat. For those planning long-term shoots or travel content, this difference is more important than any specifications.
This particular Adventure Combo is also loaded with extras. You get the camera, three Extreme Battery Plus packs, a horizontal-vertical frame for quickly changing orientations, two quick-release mounts, an adhesive curved base, locking screws, a USB-C PD cable, and a multi-functional battery case that holds and charges the batteries. DJI also includes a 1.5-meter extension pole, a rubber lens protector, a glass lens cover, and a non-slip grip. It even has 48GB of internal storage, a rarity for action cameras , as well as a microSD slot for expansion. At $369, it’s still a hefty price tag, but compared to its competitors, this one is clearly built for more without burning out, and it offers full customization out of the box.
