Whoop and Oura are excellent fitness trackers, but they require a monthly (or yearly) data plan. Other devices require an additional subscription, but you might find the paid features or frequent reminders to update annoying.
If you don’t want to shell out extra monthly fees while you’re working out, here are a few fitness trackers that surprisingly don’t require any of that—and all of them are discounted on Black Friday.
RingConn Gen 2
RingConn makes smart rings similar to the Oura and Ultrahuman. The RingConn Gen 2 model impressed ZDNet’s Nina Ramont with its 10- to 12-day battery life and reliable health tracking. It’s available in sizes 6 to 14 and includes a charging case. The app seems slightly less advanced than Oura’s, but the pricing may justify the tradeoff. The second-generation model typically retails for $299.99, but with this offer, it’s on sale for $209 .
Apple Watch
We won’t be reviewing Apple’s Fitness+ subscription , as it offers workout videos but doesn’t interfere with the watch’s functionality. (Unless you open the Fitness+ tab in the Fitness app, you’ll never know it exists.)
All current Apple Watch models offer a variety of fitness features, accessible through the Fitness and Health apps. While third-party apps are available via subscription, you won’t have to spend a dime to track workouts, close rings, receive sleep scores, or receive heart health notifications. Special offers are currently available on several Apple Watch models:
-
The Series 11 (the current mid-range model) starts at $339.99, 15% off the regular price of $399.
-
The Series 10 (1-year) starts at $279.99, a 30% reduction from the original price of $399.99.
-
The SE 3 launches at $199.99, a 20% discount from its original price of $249.99.
Coros Pace Pro
Coros makes excellent fitness and outdoor watches that rival Garmin in features but cost significantly less. I’ve written about their Pace line of watches before, and today I’m going to talk about the Pace Pro, which I reviewed here . (Coros doesn’t offer a subscription, so essentially any of their watches could have made this list.) The Pace Pro is a 46mm case watch with full-color mapping. Mapping is a paid feature that other brands charge significantly more for, but Coros adds maps to the Pace Pro for $349 (regular price is $349), and with the current offer, it’s just $299 .
How long do Black Friday deals actually last?
Black Friday sales officially begin on Friday, November 28, 2025, and will run throughout Cyber Week—the five-day period from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, December 1, 2025. However, the dates of Black Friday and Cyber Monday have been shifted as retailers compete for shoppers. You can take advantage of the same Black Friday deals early in the season , and we expect the sale to end by December 3, 2025.
Are Black Friday deals worth it?
In short, yes, Black Friday still offers deals you rarely see the rest of the year. If you’re shopping or looking for gifts, now is the time to look for deals on essentials, especially tech , home goods , and fitness equipment . Of course, if you’re looking to save money, the best way to save is to buy nothing.
Are Cyber Monday deals better than Black Friday?
Black Friday used to favor large retailers and higher-end appliances, while Cyber Monday favored cheaper appliances and gave small businesses a chance to compete online. However, today, this distinction has become virtually meaningless. Every major retailer runs sales on both days, so it’s best to know what you need, use price trackers, or consult guides like our blog , which uses price trackers, and not worry about finding the perfect time.
