Last year, when I reviewed the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold , I called it “a major step forward for foldables,” but it was undoubtedly expensive. Thanks to a big Black Friday discount, it’s now much cheaper: it’s currently priced at $540, meaning you can get it on Amazon for $1,259.99 .
Sure, that’s still a hefty price tag for a smartphone, but this is a smartphone that opens up to become a tablet. The 8-inch main display is perfect for watching videos, surfing the web, and running two apps side-by-side (so you can browse social media and chat with friends at the same time). Just as importantly, when closed, it feels like a regular phone—when all you need is a standard form factor, you don’t compromise on size or usability. (It’s equipped with a Google Tensor G4 chipset and 16GB of RAM.)
I was very impressed with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold when I reviewed it, and while Google released an updated version alongside the Pixel 10 series, there aren’t many differences between the 2024 and 2025 models. Given the significant discount Amazon is offering, I’d say it’s a more compelling purchase now than ever.
