NYT Games Subscribers Can Now Create Their Own Poems for Their Friends.

The New York Times announced a new feature that allows users to create their own Wordle puzzles and share them with friends. Creating puzzles requires a Games or All-Access subscription, but solving them does not.
You’re also not tied to the five-letter structure of regular Wordle : valid puzzles can be between four and seven letters long. They must be from the list of acceptable words; as with regular Wordle, this means proper nouns are generally prohibited. Profanity and nonsense words like “ASDFGJ” (I tried) are not allowed.
Here’s a link to a four-letter Wordle puzzle I created for you because I consider you all my friends. (This is n’t the puzzle I used to create the screenshots in this article, so don’t worry about spoilers.) Good luck!
We invite you to play a puzzle created by Beth. Hint: “This one has teeth!” https://www.nytimes.com/games/create/wordle/emnhCsAP5q-f2uhIJ5xJI95SwS7u2Lmf60S7H5-0wfp78bsvf9h-YhkOIryKZDrlwCPV
How to create your own Wordle on the NYT Games website
Here’s a link to the puzzle maker . To use it, you must be a Games (or NYT All-Access) subscriber. When creating a puzzle, you’ll need to enter the answer word, your name, and (optionally) a hint. After creating the puzzle, you can share it by writing a message similar to the one above. Anyone can click the included link and play the puzzle; no subscription is required.
After solving someone’s puzzle, you can share the result much like you would with a regular Wordle solution, but you can also include spoilers. This can be a fun way to show off your guesses to the person who created it.
Custom Wordles can be surprisingly complex
Experimenting with this tool, I found that Wordle-style puzzles that aren’t five letters long are harder than you might think. I even found it difficult to come up with suitable seven-letter words. The puzzle still gives six tries, just like a standard five-letter Wordle, regardless of the number of letters in the solution. Good luck with longer problems!
