The Latest Update to the Meta Smart Glasses Brings Improved Video and Garmin Integration.

Meta has begun rolling out the latest firmware update for Ray-Ban and Oakley smartglasses. Update V19.2 is available this week. It improves Garmin integration and video recording for first- and second-generation Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta wearables.
Improvements to Garmin device integration allow Meta users to sync Garmin stats with videos and photos, query Meta AI for health information, and receive real-time voice updates on fitness metrics during activities. Previously, these features were only available on Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses, but are now available to everyone.
On the video front, the update introduces a choice of stabilization modes (auto, low, medium, and high), the ability to record clips of five minutes (up from three), and the ability to record 1080p video at 60 frames per second—not bad for a face-worn camera.
How to update Meta smart glasses
If your Meta glasses are set to “automatically update,” all you need to do is make sure they’re connected to a power source and your phone via Bluetooth, and they’ll automatically update wirelessly. If you want to check for updates manually, follow these steps:
-
Open the Meta AI app.
-
Click on the glasses icon in the upper right corner.
-
Select the gear icon next to the glasses.
-
Click Updates.
-
Click Check to check if your device is up to date.
Meta’s update schedule is impressive.
I’ve been wearing Ray-Ban Metas for over a year now , and in my opinion, they’re the best smartglasses on the market . One of the reasons I like them so much is the Metas’ regular software updates. The company releases fixes and adds features approximately every six to eight weeks, and these are usually noticeable improvements.
The August update added AI-powered photo updates and integration with Google and Outlook calendars, while the May update added Live AI and translation features. The update speed is comparable to the platform, not the gadget itself, making these smart glasses feel like they’re built to last, not just “buy one this year, buy another next year” gadgets.
