Prime Day may have passed this fall , but you can still get the best deals on coveted brands at the lowest price, like the Google Pixel tablet (256GB) , which is currently 38% off at Amazon as part of a post-Prime Day promotion, marking its lowest price ever, according to price trackers .
The Google Pixel boasts an 11-inch display with adaptive brightness and runs on a Google Tensor G2 chip with 8GB of RAM. Its battery promises around 12 hours of video streaming on a single charge, but this PCMag review suggests that claim may not be entirely accurate. However, compared to the iPad, it has similar battery life, just 30 minutes shorter, according to a tester. It features built-in Google AI and Gemini productivity tools, including Split Screen for multitasking and Magic Editor for easy photo editing. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and reaches peak download speeds of 380 Mbps. The dual 8-megapixel cameras shoot 1080p video and can’t capture bright details, but are good for video calls, which are supported by three microphones.
In terms of performance, the tablet runs smoothly and has a fluid, intuitive interface. While this model doesn’t come with a speaker dock, its front-facing speakers deliver clear and balanced sound. Purchasing the optional dock turns the tablet into a smart home hub, but even without it, it delivers sufficient sound quality for music, media, and podcasts. The tablet’s design is elegant and premium, and it weighs only 450g. While it handles everyday tasks smoothly, it has limited refresh rates and contrast (no OLED display or 120Hz refresh rate) compared to higher-end models.
Overall, this tablet is a versatile dual-purpose device (especially if you decide to add the speaker dock at some point), but even without it, it combines the best qualities of a regular tablet and a smart home hub. The Google Pixel tablet (256GB) offers excellent smart device control and media viewing capabilities for Google ecosystem users; however, if you use it for intensive creative work or need a high-refresh-rate display, there are better options.
