The Best Workout Accessories Under $50 to Buy Before Prime Day Ends Tonight

Amazon’s Big Deal Days promotion ends tonight, October 8th, but until then, Lifehacker will be sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools.

Every day, I head to the gym with a pink bag full of pink cable ties or pink yoga blocks, then come home to make a smoothie in a pink blender. Is it possible to exercise without color-coordinating everything? Absolutely! Does the thrill of having an arsenal of useful, color-coordinated tools motivate me to get up and go to the gym? Even more so.

These October days, I expanded my collection and saved a little money. Here’s what I acquired.

(The wonderful Beth Skuerecki has already shared all the best deals on fitness equipment you can find during this holiday shopping spree, so if you’re looking for powerful models for your home gym, head there. My suggestions are more modest, but I’m happy to hear them.)

This bottle is a blender

First, I finally bought a new blender bottle for the smoothies I make with various powders. My old blender broke last week, and I hate those blender bottles with the metal ball you have to shake to mix the drinks. This led me to this:

This Fans-One electric blender was originally priced at $26 and is now down to $20.79. Reviews are positive, and I’m looking forward to it.

Adjustable dumbbells

Then I bought the Equipro adjustable dumbbells . I only have 3.5 kg dumbbells, and while it’s recommended to use 900-1.5 kg dumbbells for cycling or Pilates, I always end up lifting heavier weights and suffering later. Instead of $43, they’re now $33, and you can remove or add weight plates to reduce the weight of each from 900 to 2.5 kg.

Cable ties

I’m a big proponent of bringing your own things to the gym whenever possible: little things like mats and, most importantly, cable attachments. I bring my own mats, attachments, yoga blocks, and resistance bands, to name a few. First, it’s nice not having to wait for someone else to finish something before I can use it. Second, it’s nice to use things that maybe no one else has sweated or wiped down. Third, I’ve been to some gyms that don’t even have a variety of cable attachments or other resources, while at others, you have to hand over something of yours, like your ID, to access them because they get stolen. Save yourself all that drama and time-wasting by spending a few dollars on your own.

What do you think at the moment?

I can’t recommend this Vulken triceps rope enough. A regular jump rope at the gym hurts me, and I hate it. This rope is incredibly comfortable, with multi-level handles so it can be adapted to any situation, and it retails for $14.39.

I almost bought, but haven’t (yet) purchased, this set of cable exercise handles from Renrunring Gym Exercise Handles , which retail for just $10.39. If you’re looking to start building your own collection of accessories, these are some of the most affordable and useful options.

You can also get this Turakan Cable Machine Kit , which includes a lat pulldown bar, D-handle, triceps cable, and more. Regular price: $53, now on sale for $42.38.
