This is the year of thin and light smartphones—as if smartphones weren’t already thin and light enough. Last month, Apple certainly reached its pinnacle with the release of the iPhone Air , the thinnest iPhone ever. But remember: Samsung beat them to it.

Samsung announced its thinnest and lightest smartphone ever, the Galaxy S25 Edge , back in May. The phone started at $1,099.99, but if you wanted to upgrade to the 512GB model, it would cost $1,219.99. It’s a pricey device, but today you can get the S25 Edge for free: Amazon is offering a 40% discount on it during its October Prime Day. The 512GB model is currently available for $729.99.

The S25 Edge, as mentioned, is quite thin and light. At 5.8 mm thick, it’s thinner than any other Samsung smartphone, yet it weighs just one gram more than the S25. Despite its size, it features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1440p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It lacks the telephoto lens found on other S25 models, but it does have a 200MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP selfie camera.

The S25 Edge runs on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset as other S25 devices and comes with the same 12GB of RAM. This means the phone can support all the Galaxy AI features Samsung is pushing in its latest smartphone lineup —whether you choose to use them or not .

The Galaxy S25 Edge is definitely a smartphone for those looking for a flagship smartphone in a stylish form factor. You’ll lose the secondary camera, but if you can live without it, $730 is a great price for this device, especially considering the 512GB of storage. If you want to save even more, you can get the 256GB model in Titanium Silver for $684 , though I suspect doubling the storage will cost you $46 more.

Looking for something different? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are running Prime Day sales, which are especially helpful if you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription.
