This cordless version (powered by a quick-release battery) with four cameras and motion-activated LED floodlights offers greater flexibility and convenience than wired outdoor cameras. However, compared to the wired version, the battery-powered version is less secure against tampering, as it continues to operate even when unplugged.

According to PCMag, the camera lacks the HDR video, dual-band Wi-Fi, and aerial features of the more advanced Spotlight Cam Pro , but the 1080p HD video is crisp, and built-in floodlights enhance color night vision. A 110 dB siren also deters intruders. The Ring app allows you to communicate with visitors via two-way audio, receive notifications, and view live video; however, a Ring subscription is required to access all features. While there are customizable motion zones, there is no AI-powered human motion detection, so you’ll need to customize your alerts to prevent false alarms.

Ultimately, the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus 4-camera kit is a reliable wireless outdoor security camera, ideal for Ring/Alexa ecosystem users and packed with smart features. If you’re happy with battery monitoring and alerts, it won’t replace a more advanced wired camera with advanced AI and local recording. If you need more features, the Spotlight Cam Pro might be a better choice, but at just $90 per camera, it’s still a solid option with excellent value.
