These are exciting times for iPhone users. Of course, iOS 26 has been released , bringing a number of major changes to the platform . For the truly adventurous, there’s also the iOS 26.1 beta , which continues to build on the foundation of Apple’s latest OS. As if that weren’t enough, Apple appears to be working on another iPhone update—this time primarily aimed at fixing issues with the previous version.

The iOS 26.0.1 update could be released at any time in the coming days. Such updates are not uncommon: Apple released iOS 18.0.1 three weeks after iOS 18 last year. The goal isn’t to introduce new features or changes; rather, it focuses on bug fixes and stability improvements.

According to MacRumors , iOS 26.0.1 may fix four key bugs. These include:

  • A patch to fix a bug affecting the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air cameras.

  • Fixes a bug that causes Wi-Fi to disconnect and reconnect on iPhone 17. This bug may also cause CarPlay to disconnect in some cars.

  • Fixed a bug affecting search in the Calendar app.

  • Fixes an issue where some users were unable to download Apple Intelligence models on iPhone 17 series.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. We won’t know exactly what Apple plans for version 26.0.1 until the update itself is released. It may also include other bug fixes and security updates not included in this list.

What do you think at the moment?

You can usually tell the significance of an Apple update by the numbers in its name: an update like iOS 26 (a round number) denotes a major update released once a year; an update like iOS 26.1 (with one decimal place) denotes a minor update that still introduces new features; and an update like iOS 26.0.1 (with two decimal places) denotes a stability or security update.

When Apple releases iOS 26.0.1, you can install it from Settings > General > Software Update .
