Google Maps Is Not Working
The problem is not just you: Google Maps is not working.
According to 9to5Google , the outage started around 1:00 PM PT (4:00 PM PT) and appears to only affect the Google Maps mobile app. If you try loading the Google Maps web app, it should work. That’s exactly the case for me: I can use Google Maps in the browser without any issues, but when I open the app on my phone, I have problems.
It appears that Google is working on this issue, as the map loads when you open the app on your iPhone. However, when you try to search for a location, the results do not load. Tapping on a location results in an “Unable to determine details” error. And when you try to get directions to the location, you get an “No Internet Access” error, as the issue is with your Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
I think Google will fix this issue soon, but in the meantime you might want to try an alternative maps app.
