These Three Apps Help Me Make More Money As a Reseller

Did you know you can set up Google to filter out junk? Follow these steps to improve your search results, including adding my work on Lifehacker as a preferred source .

“Every day, every dollar” is a motto I live by, especially when it comes to my hobby of reselling. I’m fine with one or two sales a day or two, as it allows me to buy new items for my wardrobe and then sell them. But it can also be applied to my approach, as I not only make money every day, but I also funnel it back into the reselling process by using third-party apps to increase my sales. What’s the motto? You have to spend money to make money?

Well, that’s not entirely true. The three apps listed below have helped me increase my sales significantly, but they have free trials and one of them is completely free. So if you want to make money on Poshmark, there’s nothing wrong with using these apps to make money.

Vendoo: cross-lister

The first app I really like here is Vendoo, a cross-listing service that helps me quickly list items on multiple marketplaces. It helps me quickly list not only on my favorite Poshmark (where I buy and sell the most, by far), but also on my second-most popular Depop , as well as Mercari , Vestiaire Collective , eBay , and more.

Instead of creating a listing in one of these apps like you normally would, you create it in Vendoo, where you can then set it up to appear on all the other marketplaces where you have a storefront. When an item sells on one platform, Vendoo even removes it from the others, so you don’t run into problems with a buyer trying to buy something that’s already for sale elsewhere.

It acts as an inventory manager, showing you which platforms you’re doing best on, exactly how many items you have listed for sale, and more. Many standalone apps, like Poshmark, also provide analytics , but Vendoo is useful because it lets you see a more complete picture across all of your marketplaces.

If you’re already on one platform and want to move your listings to others, you can import them into Vendoo and then export them to other platforms. Obviously, this app is for more serious sellers, like those who make money from reselling, have a physical boutique and sell online part-time, or have hundreds of listings. I consider myself a hobbyist seller, but I have hundreds of listings (not counting the hundreds I’ve sold), so it works for me.

If none of these options work for you, it might not be worth it. It’s expensive. For free, you can create and list five new products per month and remove the backgrounds of three images. For $9 per month, you can create and list 25 new products and remove the backgrounds of 25. For $20 per month, you can create and list 125 new products per month, $30 per month, 250, and $50 per month, 600. For unlimited products created/listed at once, you’ll pay $70 per month. You’ll also have to pay additional fees, such as $5 per month for the ability to import products or list on 10 marketplaces, depending on your needs.

Primelister: Automator

PrimeLister is an automation tool designed specifically for Poshmark and eBay, but I only use it for Posh. Basically, for a fee, it does all the tedious little tasks that get your listings more attention: listing items on landing pages that match their brand or type, sharing other users’ listings to boost your reputation and reach, and automatically following new followers if you want it to.

What do you think at the moment?

After downloading it and spending about $30 a month, I definitely saw an increase in sales. The most useful feature it did for me was automatically sending discount offers every time someone liked my post. I was impressed that I could even set a timeout for these offers to be sent, so that my subscribers weren’t instantly spammed with notifications and it didn’t feel like a robot was answering for me (even though it was).

Of course, you can do many of these things directly through Poshmark. You can share your listings on Posh Party landing pages, send bulk discount offers, and mass repost your listings to your followers, but you can’t share other people’s listings or automatically offer discounts. Plus, if you do this through Poshmark, you’ll still have to be active. For example, you’ll have to log in every hour, check for Posh Parties, manually select all the listings you want to share, and share them. It’s not that expensive, but if you have a lot of items to sell, $30 a month might be worth the investment. If not, check out how to do many of these things yourself here .

AI Measure: Measuring Tool

The last app that has been a lifesaver for me is AI Measure. Any good reseller on any platform knows that they should include photos of their measurements with every listing, not only to answer questions before they arise but also to avoid returns for items that aren’t as described. Taking the time to measure your clothes with a tape measure, take photos, and upload the photos will save you a lot of trouble down the road, but that doesn’t mean I do it . I’m lazy and I take risks — or at least I did until I discovered AI Measure .

This minimalist measuring app automatically tags your images with the measurements of the clothes on them. That’s essentially all it does, but it’s a lifesaver. Using the iPhone’s native Measure app doesn’t work like that — it doesn’t let you display two or more measurements at once. So if you want to show the waist, inseam, and hip width of a pair of pants, you’ll need to take three photos. Plus, the native Measure app doesn’t have a shutter button, so you’re relying on a blurry screenshot. AI Measure puts all the measurements on the image at once, has a shutter button so you can take a photo, and, in my tests, gets the measurements right every time. Using it is just like taking a regular photo, and you don’t have to drag around a tape measure, so there’s no downside.

It’s also free. The included background removal tool didn’t work for me, but I don’t care because the other feature it claims works just fine. Keep in mind, though, that unlike the other two on this list, this one is only available for iOS.
