The GoPro Hero 13 Black with HB-series lenses is now available for $549 (previously $749), the lowest price ever, according to price tracker . It’s an all-in-one package that includes not only the Hero 13 Black itself, but also a set of creative accessories: a macro lens, an ultra-wide lens, an anamorphic lens, a set of four ND filters, and a premium storage case.
At its core, the Hero 13 Black isn’t a huge overhaul from the previous-generation Hero 12 Black . It has the same compact 2.0 x 2.8 x 1.3-inch body, weighs 5.6 ounces, and works with existing GoPro accessories. Video capabilities remain best in class, offering continuous 5.3K60, 4K120, and slow-motion up to 400 fps. You also get 10-bit HDR and GP-Log color profiles, making it flexible for both casual shooters and those who like to do more serious editing. But as our Deputy Technical Editor Michelle Ehrhardt points out in her Hero 13 review , what really makes it worth considering are two key changes: the aforementioned modular HB-series lenses, which add creative flexibility, and the magnetic mount, which finally helps GoPro match competitors like DJI.
The GoPro Hero 13 Black also features a larger 1,900mAh Enduro battery, which offers longer runtime and reportedly improved thermal management when locked. Plus, there’s now built-in GPS for location and telemetry data, and wireless support has been upgraded to Wi-Fi 6 for faster data transfer, further adding to its appeal. The camera isn’t perfect, though: The rear touchscreen is still small and fades in sunlight, and handheld use without an optional grip is awkward, PCMag notes in its review , but if you want a rugged, waterproof action cam that can also double as a creative tool, this is a tough package to ignore at its current price.
