Amazon Prime Members Can Get Two Free Ebooks in September
Throughout 2025, you can get thousands of free ebooks if you know where and when to look. Amazon is offering readers free Kindle ebooks all year long, with new opportunities coming every month. In September, Prime members can get two free Kindle ebooks through Amazon First Reads.
What is First Reads from Amazon?
Amazon First Reads is a program for Prime members that offers early access to new ebooks across a variety of genres, selected by First Reads editors (one of the many perks of being a Prime member ). Prime members can download one free ebook each month from a rotating list (though some months that number increases to two, usually with a free short novel), and non-members get them at a discounted price. These ebooks can be read on any compatible Kindle device or through the free Kindle app.
How to Get Free Amazon Kindle Ebooks in September
Go to the First Reads landing page to see the full list of ebooks available this month. Once you find the book you want, click the Buy Now button on the First Reads landing page. Make sure you are not redirected to the Kindle or Amazon mobile app, as you will not see the free book option there. Instead, use the web browser on your phone or computer.
Make sure you don’t click the “Pre-Order for…” button, as this will require payment. Instead, click the “Read for Free” or “Buy Now in One Click” button under the “First Reads” banner on the book’s Amazon page (don’t worry, you won’t be charged). The ebook will be sent directly to the Kindle linked to your Amazon account.

You’ll know you’ve done everything right when you see a “Thank you, [your name]!” message in your order summary, indicating that your ebook is being automatically delivered to your Kindle Cloud Reader.
Amazon Kindle Free E-Books Coming in September 2025
This month, you can choose from eight new Kindle e-books, plus a new bonus short read, “Eerie Basin.” Amazon lists the genre above each book title, making it easy to narrow down your options.
