If you have an Android, chances are you’re using one of Samsung’s Galaxy phones. These phones are fast, reliable, receive regular updates and support, and, depending on the model, have best-in-class cameras. The latest Galaxy phones, at least if you don’t count the foldable ones , are the Galaxy S25 series. They feature Samsung’s latest and greatest mobile tech, and with the Galaxy S26 series not expected until early next year, they’ll be around for a long time to come. There are discounts on all S25 models through Labor Day, which means now is a great time to invest in a Galaxy S25.
The most affordable Galaxy right now is the base model Galaxy S25 . This phone has a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy, which uses an already fast processor tailored for Samsung devices. It also has a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a powerful camera for a base model, with a 50MP main lens. There’s 12GB of RAM, and 128GB starts.
The Galaxy S25+ is the next step up, featuring virtually the same specs as the standard model but with a larger 6.7-inch display. The maximum screen resolution has been bumped up from 2340 x 1080 to 3120 x 1440, and the base storage has been increased to 256GB.
For Pro owners, the Galaxy S25 Ultra retains the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, but pretty much everything else has changed. That means the screen is even bigger at 6.9 inches (though the resolution is the same as the S25+), but the biggest upgrade is in the camera. The main camera on this phone has a resolution of 200 MP, the highest among smartphones.
Finally, there’s the Galaxy S25 Edge , which is a cross between the S25 Ultra and S25+. It has the same screen as the S25+, but the main camera is still 200MP. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the telephoto lens that every other phone on this list has, and the ultra-wide lens is 12MP (like the S25+) instead of 50MP (like the Ultra). The silver lining is that it’s the thinnest phone on this list, measuring just 0.22 inches (0.5mm) thick.
