The Samsung T7 Portable SSD isn’t the latest and greatest in portable SSDs, but I like it and plan to buy a few more T7s for me and my wife while they’re on sale for $79.99 on Labor Day. (I’m of the opinion that you can never have too many external SSDs.)
If you’re like me and have backups and a large catalog of media files that you constantly move between devices, a fast SSD is a must. For me (and most people), the Samsung T7 is fast enough, with read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and operates over USB-C. Plus, it’s cute, compact, and very portable (8.5 x 5.5 x 0.7 cm).
