Labor Day sales are already in full swing, and Lifehacker is sharing the best deals based on product reviews, comparisons, and price tracking tools before they’re gone. You can also sign up for our Add to Cart newsletter to get the best deals delivered to your inbox.

The Roku Streaming Stick Plus is priced at its lowest (according to price trackers ) at $29, which is below its regular price of $39.99 on Amazon. This easy-to-use streamer plugs directly into your TV’s HDMI port and draws enough power to run offline without being plugged into an outlet. That little detail makes it a great option for those who are short on outlets or are tired of hiding another power brick behind their entertainment center.

Once up and running, the appeal really lies in its simplicity. Roku doesn’t drown you in recommendations the way Fire TV or Google TV do, this PCMag review notes. You get a clean home screen with large tiles that take you straight to Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, or whatever else you’re paying for. If you have an iPhone or Mac, AirPlay works seamlessly, so you can beam a video or playlist to the screen without having to fiddle with a cable. Picture quality is good, thanks to HDR10 and HDR10+ support, though you don’t get Dolby Vision . If you’re someone who swears by Dolby Atmos sound, you’ll need to step up to a more expensive option. For most people, though, especially if you’re just streaming shows in the evening or throwing on a movie after work, it’s more than enough.

What do you think at the moment?

There are tradeoffs, though. There’s no official Twitch app, for example, which could be a major deal-breaker if you’re into live streaming (you can get by without AirPlay if you need to). And unlike Amazon Fire Sticks , the Roku doesn’t come with an HDMI extender, so if your TV’s ports are overcrowded, you may have to get creative. Still, for less than the cost of takeout, it’s an easy way to outfit a second TV, take it on a road trip, or just stream at home.
