Samsung’s newest premium smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is the thinnest foldable smartphone to date. It’s usually a bit pricey, but if you’re into foldables, I called it “the best foldable you can buy” in my review . So the good news is that it’s getting big discounts ahead of Labor Day.
We previously reported that the 512GB version , which has slightly more storage, has been slashed by $340. That brings the price down from $2,120 to $1,780, but if that’s still too much for you, you can now get the 256GB version for $1,700 .
It’s not as good a deal as the 512GB version, as it’s only $300 off the $2,000 model’s regular price, but it’s currently the cheapest way to get your hands on this cutting-edge device.
The deal also applies to all color options, while the $340 sale only applies to the 512GB phone in black (you can also get the 512GB gray version in the sale, though the discount isn’t as big as the black model and will bring the phone’s price down to just $1,820).
If money is no object, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a great phone. It’s powerful, it’s colorful, it’s durable, it has a decent camera for a foldable phone, an improved external screen, and a huge 8-inch internal display. Personally, I think the app support for such a large screen is still lacking, so I wouldn’t normally pay extra. But these deals make up for the price a little. There’s nothing not to like about this phone — the question is whether the perks justify the cost.
And now that you can buy it for $1,700, that question has become much easier to answer. It’s still expensive — Samsung’s non-foldable flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra , can be had for around $1,300 — but it may now be affordable enough to justify the purchase, depending on how much you value big screens.
This deal is currently available on both Amazon and Best Buy .
