Apple laptops are known for their price as well as their power, but that’s what sales are for. This year’s Labor Day sale makes it easier than ever to buy a current-generation MacBook, no matter your preference. There are great deals on both the thin and light MacBook Air M4 and the beefier MacBook Pro M4. The catch? You won’t find them on Apple’s official website.
M4 MacBook Air Discounts
The MacBook Air is the perfect laptop for browsing, offering portability, ease of use, and long battery life. It doesn’t have a built-in fan, so it may struggle with heavy-duty programs for long periods of time, but it’s a great choice for most users.
Amazon and Best Buy are offering discounts on Apple’s entire MacBook Air lineup for Labor Day. Prices start at $799 for the 13-inch model (was $999) and are available in all colors. Prices vary depending on the amount of memory you choose, with prices going up to $1,199 for the 13-inch model with 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. If you want a bigger screen, you can also get the 15-inch model, which starts at $999 (was $1,199) and goes up to $1,399 (was $1,599). Like the 13-inch model, all 15-inch models are also discounted in all colors.
M4 MacBook Pro Deals
The MacBook Pro is slightly heavier than the MacBook Air, but it comes with a fan and a wide range of processors, from the entry-level M4 (the same processor as the Air) to the especially powerful M4 Max. It’s ideal for professionals, especially those who frequently use editing and 3D modeling software.
Discounts here are a bit more limited than for the Air. There are dozens of configurations available on Amazon and Best Buy , each with different color options and amounts of memory or storage, though only a few are discounted. The cheapest option I could find at the time of writing is $1,299 (down from $1,599) for a 14-inch model with the standard M4 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. If you need a little more oomph, you can also check out this 14-inch model with the M4 Pro chip, 24GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, which is selling for $1,699 (down from $1,999). Or, if you want the absolute best of everything Apple has to offer, you can get this 16-inch model with the M4 Max chip, 48GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage for $3,552.55 (down from $3,999).
If none of these suit you, feel free to experiment with specific memory and storage configurations that suit your needs, though I can’t promise there will be a discount on your choice.
