The early Labor Day sales are here, and you’ll find great deals on all sorts of tech, including TVs , iPads , and headphones. If you need help with audio, there are plenty of great deals on everything from Sony’s latest headphones to the wildly popular Nothing earbuds. Here are the best deals I’ve found so far.
As the name suggests, AirPods 4 are the fourth generation of Apple’s original open-back earbuds, which have become iconic. They pair well with all other Apple products, especially the iPhone. They also work seamlessly with iPhones, iPads, and Macs. As part of the Labor Day sale, Amazon is offering them down to $89.99 — their lowest price ever.
While they don’t have active noise cancellation (the AirPods 4 with ANC are also on sale right now for $139 , but that’s not the lowest price we’ve ever seen ), they offer excellent sound quality and a good amount of bass.
The open design of the AirPods 4 is better suited for those who don’t like the in-ear design of the AirPods Pro. This allows you to always hear the world around you, and makes them much safer to wear outside. The case doesn’t support wireless charging, but it does have a USB-C port. The battery lasts up to five hours on a single charge, and the charging case provides up to 30 hours of listening time.
The AirPods 4 are the best-sounding open-ear headphones PCMag has ever tested. In its review, PCMag gave the AirPods 4 an “Excellent” rating, noting that “AirPods 4’s bass capabilities are revolutionary for open-ear headphones, and the overall sound balance is excellent thanks to Apple’s Adaptive EQ.”
